Hello! If you've gotten this far, excellent! I am a Florida native new to the area. I love it here, only I would love to be able to meet more people. A lot of stuff makes me incredibly unique, a cool fact that applies to everyone. I am a person who takes a lot of joy from everyday life. I am moved by the beauty of nature, even something simple like morning sunlight. Iâ??m very non-PC though, and I get annoyed with the wussiness of democrats, so Iâ??m donating my cojones to the DNC when I die. Thatâ??s not going to happen for quite a while though, with any luck.

I lived my first twenty years or so in LA, California, and have been in NoVa since then mostly. I tried out some other places: Boston, Long Island, South Carolina (big mistake), Florida. None of them suited me well. I do like the change of seasons here, and the marble buildings and the fountains, traffic circles, cicadas, snow (all too rare), free museums, integrated neighborhoods, Brickskeller (Mongolian Beer!!!), Union Station (esp. the adjacent postal museum), Cinema â??n Drafthouse, and only one hour on I-66 to the mountains.

I moved to Alexandria, after college for my first "real" job. I grew up in Bethesda, so I am kind of a local.

I run and bike a lot, and enjoy playing soccer or frisbee. I also recently discovered my kitchen, and have been cooking up a storm. I am also inclined towards going outside and staying away from my computer. (I sit in front of one all day at work). I try to live a balanced life, although I am literally living at the office these days.

I live in Old Town Alexandria, and am looking for someone nearby. I love my area, going out in the District, and enjoying the area's activities. I am an independent girl who feels more comfortable with a boyfriend. Although that sounds like a contradiction, I believe it to be true. I have many contradictions in me. I moved to Alexandria at the beginning of January. I work for a contractor doing work for the FAA. In particular, I help the FAA figure out how to improve their data management systems. I enjoy hitting up a bar with some good live music (rock, blues, jazz) but really dislike clubs (I simply don't understand why I need to pay $15 for the privilege of buying overpriced alcohol and listening to someone's ipod playlist all night). I like to shoot pool but am only mediocre at it. I also am a big movie fan; I love catching the newest action flick at the theater or watching a dvd at home. I am also an avid golfer and really enjoy playing rec softball (again, mediocre is the best way to describe my skill level).

I live in a condo in the city, and have a career that I enjoy very much. I keep myself in excellent physical condition, exercise frequently, but am not a fanatic about that... I'm as comfortable sitting with a cup of tea and a reading good book, as I am out on rollerblades, or hiking on the local trails. I love to go out to restaurants to eat and going shopping. I also love going to art galleries, museums, book stores, and coffee shops... I like to travel, and LOVE the beach. I am, as you can probably tell, a very happy and content person. I have a "glass is half-full" outlook on life. I'm comfortable with who I am, and where I am. I look and act younger than my age. Or so I've been told! :-)

Recently moved to the area and loving all the city has to offer. I took a new job with a publishing company managing online marketing. So far I spend my spare time (of what I have) walking my dogs, watching football on Sundays, checking out the area and traveling. I love making plans in the moment and look for things that are fun. I'm not much for the bars (unless it's Sunday and football is on), but rather like getting out and seeing the city. I love Thai food, well actually any food. At the same time, my job can be stressful, so need down time from time to time.

I am not a salesman, and this will most likely be reflected in my attempt to describe myself. People would most likely describe me as being quite down-to-earth, logical, and responsible, but also fun and witty once you get to know me. I think I can safely say that I'm not like most guys - for instance, I know nothing about sports and really have no desire to learn, despite the exasperations of my roommates.

I'm strictly a dilettante in the realm of language, but I love learning in general. Like most boys born in the 70s, I have a high regard for science fiction (think Star Wars, but also love terrible Z-grade 'Plan 9' style cinema) and Optimus Prime. My teenage years were spent enjoying the vicissitudes of the punk rawk and hardcore scenes. I like to think I retained all of the integrity and none of the hidebound attitudes of those groups. Of course, I still love the music - but I won't try to list my favorite bands or anything. I'm pretty flexible on what I enjoy doing - I think it's the company that makes something fun. I could probably even enjoy monster truck rallies with the right person. Though monster truck rallies are always awesome anyway; I love to watch Count Truckula crush dozens of compact cars (/end joke)!

What sort of girl am I looking for? I've dated a lot of different types, but I think I'd like a girl-next-door type with a geeky streak or a punk rock past. Someone who doesn't mind slowing down a bit and who will enjoy my company. Someone who will appreciate my sense of humor and can sass back with verve.

One caveat: I'm pretty heavily tattooed and I have no shame about it (and will probably get more tattoos in the future). So if that will scandalize your friends/parents/pet/spirit guide, we are probably not a good fit.

I am reliably imperfect, but perfectly reliable. I quite enjoy random acts of incessant babbling and have a penchant for cheese and tequila! Well Petite Basque and Feta really. I have three main goals here, not in any real order:

1) I am a very new transplant to the East Coast from the lovely city of Seattle and have not had the time to find many friends which raises the need to do so to the borderline critical. I would love to meet some cool people just to relate to and hang out with. I am pretty much game to do and try everything.

2) If I meet someone I really click with I'm all in. You know when you've found someone like that and it is a very rare occurrence.

16. UPDATE: I was asked today "What are you on here for? It doesn't look like much..." This is true. I'm generally booked and not ready for a relationship. However, I'll take a new friend any day and if something happens, so be it.
23. Is my favorite number.

How do you describe yourself without hubris? Well here goes, as to my three word summary I'm quiet because I can enjoy silence, shy because I never really learned to connect with people quickly (I warm up and become less quiet after getting to know somebody a little), and weird because nobody is "normal". So now that I've explained them how else do describe me? I guess conservative hippie would be the best qualifiers.

I am a down to earth person, I am goal oriented person, respectful, honest, and presentable. I live a healthy life style, enjoy cultural events, outdoor activities, I am open minded and open to enjoying and trying new things, like to travel, I like all kinds of music and I like to dance. I like to go out and do fun stuff such as enjoying the sun or the sunset. I like animals and am very friendly when comes to animals, I am a very open-minded person. I love long walks, good conversation, going out to nice dinners, or going to test different ethic foods or we can go one of the coffee shops and have nice coffee and have wonderful conversation.

I guess I would describe myself as a shy database consultant who travels a lot for work (mostly up to New York). I'll get the more serious/boring info out of the way. I'm a Manager at Deloitte with the Data Analytics group with a focus on anti-money laundering/terrorist financing in the banking industry. I love my job (usually) and I have a very solid career path going (I think :)).

When I'm not travelling for work, I love watching movies, playing video games, and most importantly playing music (guitar, drums, bass). I'm definitely happy with where my life is, especially since I never thought I'd be this comfortable with the "real world" so soon.

You may be thinking that I mention work an awful lot. To be honest, the previous 4+ years, work had consumed my life to the point where the work/life balance basically didn't exist. After getting promoted to manager and a serious medical incident, I've started realizing that I need to take more control of balancing my life.

So in an effort to do that, I've been pushing to travel less and work fewer hours, and I've had some victories in that area! With that newfound free time, I've taken up rock climbing... can't get enough of it.

Anyway, all that aside, I'm very easy to get along with and I'm extremely patient with people. I'm also one of those types that has few friends, but those few friends I have are extremely close to me. I'm probably not the best person to go to for an idea of what to do for the night, but I'll mostly never say no to an idea... mostly.

I am a full time Senior Secretary working in DC and living in Old Town Alexandria. I just completed my masters in Museum Studies and am looking to transition into a museum within the year. I love books, movies, video games and crafting. I love trying new things, but also love just staying home and enjoying good company and food.
