For my age I am quite young in appearence an personality. I guess you could say I am a young soul. I am a hard worker at work. I am hack guitar player who still thinks I will be in another band( My last band was over ten years ago). I am a bit shy but when I loosen up I am a pretty goofy person.

I'm originally from England, and while I have no plans to return I find myself missing it more recently. I love rock climbing, kick boxing and long distance running.

I've been described as an adrenaline junkie, which I take as a compliment. I work hard, and try to play harder. I'm pretty easygoing and spontaneous... and now I feel like I'm being generic, so ask me anything else you'd like to know!

Where to start. At the very beginning, I guess. It's a very good place to start.

I'm kind of shy, which doesn't serve me well. But when I make friends they're usually friends for life. I may not be a social butterfly but I'm surrounded by good people: smart, funny, profound, talented, self-aware people. My friends and family are generous, kind and warm.

I'm a musician. I play guitar and bass and some other instruments kind of. Enough to make good music. I don't gig like I used to when I played jazz, but I make music at home and am getting pretty good at putting things together and mixing them and all that business.

I also like to draw and would really like to get back into oil painting. So much to do, so little time, right?

I am a fairly open-minded weirdo geek, a bit hippie-influenced, punk-influenced, goth-influenced, metal-influenced...Probably more geek than anything else.

(Um yeah...I don't really know what I am... I fringe on different crowds and could never stick to one mix of influences exclusively or for very long, so it's hard to categorize myself or gel together with one type of person)

I am a SubGenius, at least, but they are a rare breed. And never in Virginia.

I hate cliques. And conformity. And so-called "normal" people who I find unbelievably illogical, mis-directed, short-sighted, and sometimes just plain stupid.

I am a libertarian and radically political. I think the world is basically out to get us (the people), and that fascism is fast coming to America. Bush is only accelerating what seems to be the inevitable... and he should be stopped.

I like interesting social interaction with interesting people.

I prefer non-conformity, but it seems even the non-conformists all conform to their own little cliques -- and that kinda defeats the point, and reduces the true power of those cliques in general.

I am a cynic and a realist, but also an idealist which occasionally brings out some optimism, which can surprise people who know me at times. That, in turn, surprises me... so sorry if I seem angry, or happen to flick you off while driving to work this week.

I love conversations, hanging out with cool people, shiny things, house parties, camping, watching TV (comedic cartoons mostly), watching movies, listening to music, blacklights, getting wasted with good friends, anything computer-related, playing video games--sometimes (yes, even Dance Dance Revolution--not scared to be a dork, more scared of heart disease).

I dislike most public places as they cater to the lowest demoniator of people, and have the least degree of social freedom. There always seems to be some rule that can be broken when in public. Even in the weirder clubs. This "public" thing is overrated. Going "out" to be around "people" that you never speak to is utterly fscking pointless. Once, I didn't see the sun for 3 weeks, and I liked it.

I dislike most devout Christians, dogs, children, Republicans, but that is only a generality. I'm positive there is a republican christian puppy out there that I would really like. For dinner.

I generally like people. Well... Good people, anyway.

I believe that I am a well rounded individual with a love for travel. I enjoy a variety of things from going out with friends for various functions for dinner, drinks, dancing, and travel, yet I can also just enjoy a night at the house watching movies.

I'm a bit of a geek & gamer, though thats coupled with a healthy obsession over riding motorcycles, paintball, and a thirst for information. I enjoy spending time with company more intelligent than I. In fact, the quickest way to peak my interest is to prove me wrong.

I can be a bit a shy at first, but tend to be loud and talkative around folks I have some familiarity with. I'm constantly making jokes, particularly with those who can deliver and receive playful banter.

I don't obsess over things I can't change. If there's a problem, I tend to look at the situation, note how it began to prevent it from recurring, and just choose an option to solve it. What can I say? I'm an Engineer. I'm both an optimist, and a realist. And suprisingly, thats not a conflict in terms.

Stare at people blankly on the metro, sing in the shower, run into walls and corners cuz I'm clumsy like that, try to figure out which way doors open at work (they're all different), jump up from the toilet before the auto flush splashes me, find the best places to stay when the zombie attack finally occurs, lip sync to my MP3 player while playing my DS Lite on the metro, try to run over people while getting off at my stop, find the closest exit.

I like my job, I get to leave it at the door. I have 2 cats that are actually insane (one has a foot fetish), and named after the Wonder Twins (bonus points if you know the names). I'm only a dork, and will probably never be a geek, but I try. I have gadgets and such. I like touchscreens alot, but I refuse to get the iPhones. I would really like a touchscreen in my kitchen.

Am honest, kind, caring and passionate man. I try to live life to the fullest. Am a positive person. I radiate cute on the outside and more importantly the inside. Am looking forward to meeting different woman that might share some of the same interests and values as I do. Someone who is honest, intelligent, kind and sincere. Someone who loves to laugh and have fun. Someone who has a great sense of humor and is easy going. Someone who can laugh at themselves. A loving woman who knows how to love, honor and respect a man. Someone who is active and has a variety of interests and open to new. Someone who really likes to travel. Basically someone I can love and be loved by in return, who I could potentially spend the rest of my life with. So I had some random thoughts on the way home tonight as I sat in beltway traffic...
The first thought being - WTF is this traffic about?!?! It is 20:30! Someone needs to explain this to me...
The second being - Thank God for my friends who keep me sane. And really - there are only a handful. The ones who really know me, who know how I am and how to kind of work with it and keep me going. They (whoever "they" are), say you are lucky to have THREE good friends in your life. Then I count myself lucky. I have at least two and I just wish they could see into my heart and see how extremely grateful I am to them. (And I do tell them how important they are to me every once in a while.) And at the end of the day, even if I am single forever, it is better to be single and have these people in my life than give one of them up because my friendship with this person is a little too close for some people. There is a reason we are so close - it is because we have stuck by each other through a lot, seen each other at our worst, and at the end of the day, a friendship, and a solid one at that, remains. Nothing more. And that's where it will forever stay.
The third being - I NEED to go with gut instincts more often. If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck - well, it probably is a duck. So if I think something is... suspicious... go with it and move away from it as quickly as possible.

I have a very understated, very laid back, very friendly personality. I enjoy things like relaxing, sleeping, watching TV, surfing the web and playing video games. AND I think things are funny and like to laugh about them. If you were looking for someone super serious who acted the part all the time, sorry, I'm not that way. I love biking and playing tennis (I serve really well my back hand though....ughhh) In summer I make it a point to bike as many times as possible. Biking got me into photography. As a New Years resolution I decided to dedicate more time to photography and recently got a professional grade (DSLR) camera and since have been reading up and am taking classes in Spring. I joined OKCupid three years ago, just to take the tests... and found out more about myself than I ever imagined. I met some interesting people and "came out of my shell" to the point where I have a lot to look forward to now.

Now I find myself available to date, and yet dateless. The transition period is very rough.

"Getting it right" is loosely interpretted - to me that quote means living fully and not having to look backward with regret of things you wish you had done. I try to take advantage of the opportunities that come my way. As a result, I have had a few successful careers, travelled around the world and collected a lot of interesting stories and friends. I like keeping active - sleeping in and sitting in front of the tv are not things I do a lot of, especially in great weather! I love the outdoors and tennis, golf, hiking and horseback riding are among my favorite things to do. Summer is the BEST time of year, so as you can imagine, I'm a little sad that we have all these winter days ahead of us. But, I can always find the bright side and college basketball (GO TERPS!!), snow days and hibernating with a bottle of wine and good company is worth looking forward to.

I guess I would describe myself as a shy database consultant who travels a lot for work (mostly up to New York). I'll get the more serious/boring info out of the way. I'm a Manager at Deloitte with the Data Analytics group with a focus on anti-money laundering/terrorist financing in the banking industry. I love my job (usually) and I have a very solid career path going (I think :)).

When I'm not travelling for work, I love watching movies, playing video games, and most importantly playing music (guitar, drums, bass). I'm definitely happy with where my life is, especially since I never thought I'd be this comfortable with the "real world" so soon.

You may be thinking that I mention work an awful lot. To be honest, the previous 4+ years, work had consumed my life to the point where the work/life balance basically didn't exist. After getting promoted to manager and a serious medical incident, I've started realizing that I need to take more control of balancing my life.

So in an effort to do that, I've been pushing to travel less and work fewer hours, and I've had some victories in that area! With that newfound free time, I've taken up rock climbing... can't get enough of it.

Anyway, all that aside, I'm very easy to get along with and I'm extremely patient with people. I'm also one of those types that has few friends, but those few friends I have are extremely close to me. I'm probably not the best person to go to for an idea of what to do for the night, but I'll mostly never say no to an idea... mostly.

But basically I love the outdoors, from the beach to the mountains! Love to play sports such as softball, kayaking, mt biking, basketball, soccer, tennis, frisbee golf, snow boarding, fishing, darts, hiking, camping, billards etc... I just love it! I am environmental analyst, so I like to be with nature and love to save her from stupid people who pollute, I am a music fanatic, meaning music sets my day my mood etc. I like to read all different kind of genres except romance novels, dont know why I just cant get into to them! Hanging with friends and family is a very important part of my life! I love a vodka gimlet but enjoy many different micro brews. Traveling is very important to me, I try to travel as much as I can just because its fun and the adventure aspect makes me happy! Alittle more about me! I am the type of person who does not fall in love cause of gender, but in the person as a whole! I guess that is why I am Bi! In short, I am a woman who is fun loving and can be a bit quixotic in a romantic type of way. I prefer a man who does not believe chivalry is dead. I have traveled extensively and I like to travel. I'm just a normal girl who fancies herself well read and takes the most pride in the diversity of her music collection

My name is Lena and I currently am a sophomore at George Mason University. I am a psychology major debating on double majoring in art as well. Most people would say I am a fun person to be around and that I laugh a lot and have a good heart.

Something I like to do is ballroom dancing. I enjoy doing the rumba and cha cha because you get to be all sexy haha although I'm not sure if I pull it off. haha I also dance foxtrot, waltz, swing, some tango,samba, salsa. I love it!

Random fact: I have a cat named Luna. He is a little fatty. lol but I like to think that he is fat and happy because diets just don't work for him, which I am sure there are many many factors unto why he won't lose wait but still. I still love him the way he is. haha
